Danielle's Nutella Breakfast Rolls

Nutella is huge today and a favorite of my children and grandchildren.

My granddaughter Danielle makes this amazing breakfast creation that she calls "Nutella Breakfast Rolls".  Danielle loves to cook and bake. She has a lot of her great-grandma Mary in her.  In fact, she even make these treats using my mom's old wooden rolling pin (I'm sure you all know the one.. with the red wooden handles.)  Danielle is going to make someone very happy someday...........not only is she a natural beauty but she can cook too!

The next time we plan a brunch, she wants to surprise her uncles by adding her Nutella Breakfast Rolls to the menu.

Danielle's Nutella Breakfast Rolls

  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 4 Tbs of Nutella
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 Tbs half & half or milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbs butter or margarine
  1. Trim the crust off the white bread slices.
  2. Beat the egg with half & half or milk in a bowl
  3. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  4. Place the bread slices on a piece of waxed paper.
  5. Using a rolling pin, flatten out each of the bread slices
  6. Spread 1 tablespoon of Nutella on each slice of bread.
  7. Roll lengthwise in a jelly roll fashion.  (Danielle uses a little Nutella to glue the end of the roll)
  8. Dip each roll into the beaten egg mixture covering all sides.
  9. Then roll into the cinnamon/ sugar mix.
  10. Melt the butter or margarine in a pan.
  11. Brown the rolls on all sides.
  12. Remove and serve with a sprinkling of powdered sugar.

Move over IHOP......
