Dawn's Granola

I recently met Casey's mom, Dawn. She is a very sweet lady who has the energy of a little tornado. She just never stops. Besides working full-time, Dawn makes homemade everything... Bailey's Irish Cream, cookies, ice cream, soup, homemade designer soaps and the list goes on. She even dries her own spices which she adds to her beautifully designed gift baskets.

Dawn scrutinizes over the ingredients in every thing she buys. No preservatives or chemicals for her or her family. Everything has to be natural so she makes quite a few things from scratch to ensure that it is just that....natural". This granola recipe is no exception.

Dawn's Granola

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (Organic is best)
  • 1/cup wheat germ
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup of raisins or other dried fruit of choice
Combine all ingredients except raisins. Spread onto a foil lined baking pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for about an hour or until golden. Stir occasionally.

Remove from oven, allow to cool. Add raisins/dried fruit. Store in an airtight container.

**It just might be habit forming so be careful :)
